What's the difference between the 4 formats?
Our Arabica is the same in all four — only the format changes, and every bag comes in whole bean or ground (your choice).
250 g : discovery size, to try it out. 340 g : the most popular, for regular drinking. 1 kg : family size, the best price per gram. Capsules — Box of 50 : Nespresso® Original compatible, perfect for the office or a rushed morning.
How long does the coffee keep after opening?
To preserve aromas at their best: re-seal the bag after each use and store it in a dry, cool place away from light.
Whole beans keep their aromas for 4 to 6 weeks after opening. Ground coffee: 2 to 3 weeks. Capsules: up to 12 months as long as they remain individually sealed.
Important: never put coffee in the fridge or freezer — moisture damages the aromas.
Are the capsules compatible with my Nespresso machine?
Yes — our capsules are 100% compatible with Nespresso® Original machines (the vertical-spout machines).
They are not designed for Nespresso Vertuo machines (which use a different, wider capsule format).
If you're unsure about your model, contact us at info@tabarcafe.net with a picture of your machine — we'll confirm before purchase.
What is the delivery time within Canada?
We ship from Montreal via Canada Post. Average delivery times:
• Quebec & Ontario: 2 to 4 business days
• Maritimes & Prairies: 4 to 6 business days
• British Columbia & Territories: 5 to 7 business days
A tracking number is emailed to you upon shipment. Free delivery on orders over $50.
Can I return if I don't like the taste?
Yes. We offer a 14-day satisfaction guarantee on your first order.
If the aromatic profile doesn't suit you, contact us at info@tabarcafe.net within 14 days of receipt. We'll find a solution: replacement with a different format, exchange for a different coffee, or refund.
Our goal: every cup should live up to the story it carries.
Is Tabar coffee certified organic or fair-trade?
Tabar Café operates on direct and fair trade in practice, but without formal certification for now.
Concretely: we work without speculative intermediaries, 20% of profits from coffee imported to Canada are returned to planting peace trees and community programs in Africa, and we publicly document every step on the Self-made Africans YouTube channel.
Organic and fair-trade certifications are costly for small refugee producers — we prefer that money go directly to the communities rather than to certification bodies.
